I've always been a big fan of club music, especially the club re-mixes of songs you here on the radio. I started spinning in high school, just for fun, spinning records in my bedroom, and making tapes for friends. As time moved on, and I got a life, I rarely had time to spin music, but my passion for it never died. On the weekend's I'd hang out the local clubs here in Jacksonville, Fl. and dance until my legs were weak at the knees. As times changed, so did the music. The music that I liked to dance to was being pushed aside by Trance, Tribal, Drum n' Bass, and Electronica. Don't get me wrong, I love all types of club music (Trance, Dark House, Tribal, etc.), but not back to back to back, so after awhile, it all became boring to me, and I hung up my headphones for good.
Fast Forward about 10Years >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
In 1999 I had my first opportunity to visit the Sawmill Camping Resort. It was love at first sight. The people I met were so friendly, The staff was amazing, and I couldn't believe that they had a deejay playing music that I liked to dance too. This re-ignited my passion for spinning music, and thought to myself, "Man, I'd really love to spin here." Since the deejay technology advanced from limiting Deejays to only spin vinyl, I had so many avenues to choose from. Did I want to stay with vinyl? Did I want to spin with CD's? Blah, Blah, Blah. So after about 6 months of investigation, I decided to stick with the digital revolution and go with spinning MP3's. So I Bought this excellent MP3's mixing software Called Traktor, built a P. C., and ripped all the Cd's that I've collected over the years to MP3.
I practiced mixing MP3's for about a year, until I was comfortable with it. I made a several demo CD's and passed them out to the Promotions Director (At that time), the owners of the Sawmill Camping Resort, and several friends. After several long weeks, I finally got the opportunity to spin at the Sawmill Camping Resort every other weekend, and I loved it. I was always so excited to get up there and and start spinning. After the first couple weeks of getting my feet wet, I noticed the dance crowd was getting bigger and bigger. My good friend Joey D. asked me if I'd consider spinning at the Sawmill Camping Resort every weekend. This was like a dream come true. A few days later I was asked by management, and the owners if I'd be willing to spin every weekend. From that day forward, I've been the proud resident deejay at the Sawmill Camping Resort.
It's been over a three years now and I still get extremely excited every time I deejay at the Sawmill Camping Resort. I can't begin to explain the feeling I get looking out of the deejay booth, seeing people dancing, feeling there energy, and knowing that they're having a good time. I feel very privileged to be spinning at the Sawmill Camping Resort. I'm forever grateful to the owners and the management staff for putting their trust in me, and letting me do what truly love doing, spinning music and making people happy.
In closing, I'd also like to say "THANK YOU!!" to all the people who come out to party with us. Over the past year, I've received over 50 emails from people telling me how much they enjoy my music (Hopefully I can figure out how to put these emails on this web site,) and I'm constantly being told "Good Job" from people around the campground. The feeling I get from that is priceless. Again, "THANK YOU!!." I am so very grateful and appreciative to all the people that come out and party with with us. Without you, none of this would be possible.
